VLE 16U Wins Colonial Invitational - The 2008 season is off to a good start for VLE 16U with a tournament win at the Colonial Invitational in Williamsburg June 7-8. In the opening game, VLE lost to the Yorktown Revolution, always great competition in our local area. In 100+ degree heat and the heat index near 115, Eagles pulled it together to take wins from Lady Thunder and Richmond Freeze. Sunday's temperatures were just as bad with several teams losing players to the heat. VLE took down the Williamsburg Stars and Wakefield Hornets to meet up with the Revolution in the championship. Eagles took an early lead and held the Revolution scoreless until the last inning, giving up 1 run to secure an out. VLE wins 4-1.
